Unable to "switch-off"

Assuming the majority (maybe 85 %?) of teachers are also parents, summer holidays are an opportunity for even more dedicated — wait for it — "quality [family] time". However, how do you (assuming you should) resist the temptation to "slip-in" some light teaching of maths (e.g. "if I gave the cashier £ 5 to buy today's ice-creams, how much change did I get?"), allowing the holidays to be just that. It is difficult to avoid casual reading of old blog posts in the education networks, think over ideas to consider, but citc has decided to pause anything other than mere scrolling for a few weeks more...
